I feel like I owe an update, as my readership has exploded; now three people read this!
You may have noticed that I have a few legacy military- and travel-focused posts on here. I still work for the military, and still love to travel, but I’m generally not keen on advertising the details. I’m no Michael Bazzell, but I don’t like to advertise where I am or where I’m going.
I don’t take a lot of photos anymore, because I splashed saltwater on my beloved Sony camera a couple years ago. On an unrelated note, did you know that saltwater corrodes electronics? Wild, I know. Someday I’ll pick up another one, but right now I just don’t have the time, and my heart’s not in the art. (If someone wants to buy me a new camera, I’m sure my heart could get back in it).
Most of my “spare time” right now is focused on academic/educational pursuits. I’m honing my Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) skills, learning about ethical hacking/penetration testing, and grinding through the myriad joys of grad school (Master of Science in Computer Science from CU Boulder: expected graduation…eventually). I’m planning a professional pivot into cybersecurity, and hoping that these moves directly support that.
I write to learn, so I’ll be continuing in the vein of my recent writings. I find that approaching a topic with the mindset that I’ll have to explain it to someone else shapes my efforts. I take better notes, I understand it better, and I get better grades.
I’ll also continue to write periodically about relationships, health and fitness, and other life skills, as the muses dictate. (The best way to deal with people and get through life is to just be chill, ok? Except when it’s better to be aggressive. Very simple.) Oh, and maybe a little bit about Norse mythology, food, timber-frame construction, and socks.
I write a lot. I publish a little. You shouldn’t read any of it.
Stay hungry. Stay humble.
